Europe Trip

Summary

Days 1 - 5

Day 1-

I left school at 12:30 p.m. for a three hour bus ride to New York City to get on a plane at JFK's British Airways building.  After waiting  for four hours at JFK we finally boarded the plane at 9:30 at night.

Day 2-

Hello Italy!  We finally landed in Rome after a 7 hour plane ride.  Once we got to Rome we met our tour director and rode around the city.  Then we went to our hotel to change out of our clothes.  After that we started our walking tour of the city.  We got to see the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps that night.  They were so beautiful to look at.  Finally we were able to go to sleep after being awake for over 24 hours!

Day 3-

We woke up really early in the morning to start our walking tour again.  We started out visiting the Vatican which was gorgeous, but it was to bad that it was raining out.  It was really cold and wet.  After the Vatican we went to the Piazza Venezia and climbed the steps to the top of the building where the site of Rome was beautiful.  From the top I was able to see the Coliseum, the Forum and the roof line of Rome. After the Piazza Venezia we walked to the Forum.  After that we  walked from the Forum to the Coliseum.  From there we walked  to see the oldest ruins in the city then we continued to the Pantheon.  Finally, we walked through the Piazza Novena.  The day was amazing even though we had to walk everywhere and I was tired.  At night we went to eat, then we went back to the hotel to fall asleep.

Day 4-

We left Rome and headed to Florence.  On the way to Florence we stopped at a small city on a hill called Assisi.  There we walked up and down many hilly sidewalks in the rain.  Besides the hills and the rain, Assisi was a beautiful little Italian city.  There we visited St. Frances Basilica and St. Clair's Cathedral.  After Assisi we traveled by bus to reach Florence.  When we got there, we went to dinner and the we went to a disco.  A disco is a club in Europe.  There I had a lot of fun dancing with my friends and Italian guys.

Day 5-

We started our walking tour of Florence.  We stopped first at Giotto's Bell Tower which was beautiful.  Then we walked to the Palazzo Vecchio, which is was a castle that they use as a government building now.  After Palazzo Vecchio we saw the Gates of Paradise.  Finally, we had a lot of free time to walk around Florence and shop!  Florence was so beautiful and the weather was perfect!  After we were all shopped out we went to dinner and then we caught a sleeper train to Paris.
